Some Shower Rods manufactured by Johnson Bros. are also made for a unique function. One function is to have the shower rod made as a track from an Open Seam Tubing or a Flanged Inward Seam Tubing. Most any custom shape and size can also be made in round, square or any shape. These Shower Curtain Tracks can be used along with a ball and chain assembly or other fixtures for the inside. Shower Curtain Tracks and Shower Curtain Rails are typically manufactured in a thicker metal from .024" through .060" thickness which is thicker than Lock Seam Shower Rods. There is an opening in the track and rail rods where the ball hangs in and a hook is attached to the ball with a chain. The shower curtain is then attached to the hooks. This assembly’s movement allows the Shower Tracks and Shower Rails easily move the shower curtain back and forth along the track rod’s length. Shower Track and Shower Rail are stronger than our less expensive Lock Seamed Shower Rod Tubing. They are typically used in applications when a stronger durable tube is needed such as Hospitals and some Hotels and Motels where frequent replacement is not desirable. Our Shower Tracks and Rails can be made out of the same materials and finishes as noted on our main Shower Rods page this page was linked from. Typically, our standard Shower Curtain Track and Shower Curtain Rail, have been made in a 1" round tubing with inner flanges for the ball, chain and hook assembly to ride in. It is made in a .024" thickness, brite stainless, also with the protective strippable PVC coating.
